I like this quote because I agree with Morrie that each year I grow older, I learn a little bit more about myself and what I want out of life, much more than when I was in high school or college. I still don't have it all figured out, but I have more "peace of mind" than I did at 18 or 21. This doesn't mean I'm looking forward to wrinkles and broken hip bones, but I am looking forward to the wisdom that comes with old age. ~Ms. S.

Example:
"The culture we live in does not make people feel good about themselves. And you have to be strong enough to say if the culture doesn' t work, don't buy it" (Albom, 42).

In the U.S. today, if a person does not live up to the values promoted by the media (being beautiful, thin, rich, athletic...etc) they feel inadequate, or feel that they don' t measure up. I like this quote because Morrie tells us to ignore the culture and create our own "subculture" by filling our lives with more meaningful pursuits. -Ms. S.
